Aggressive woman in biker gear told us to turn around and leave right now because this was private property. I suppose she actually had some authority. Couldn't even park there for a fee.
Dont go here if youre trying to see the eclipse. Or for anything else. Awful, rude, ungenerous.
Pulled up in one vehicle with two kayaks and were yelled at from someone at the "ranger station" across the street that we had to pay $5 per boat to launch. They used a megaphone, because I'm assuming they were too lazy to come and actually say something. The sign says $5 per vehicle as does the actual envelope to pay the fee. Don't come here. There's plenty of FREE and friendly launch sites all around Chattanooga.
New manager hired. Still a great place to camp. Eclipse was crowded and viewers were using parking reserved for paying campers.
My son drove there from Chattanooga to experience the eclipse at 100%. He chose a green spot on the map called Sales Creek Recreation Area. When he arrived he was chased away by some toothless goon. I was on the phone with him when the guy banged on his window Gestapo style. Totally rude!!
